Hello again, everyone! In today’s blog, I’m going to share with you a couple of valuable resources when you’re looking for things to do in Gatlinburg, or in general, the entire Smoky Mountain region. As you know already, it’s exciting to plan your trip to this vacation mecca in beautiful East Tennessee. While there’s tons of available information on the internet, I thought I might steer you toward a place you may not have thought of—YouTube. Of course, you can find many travel videos from various accounts, but these two consistently churn out content specific to the area. Let’s not waste any more time and check them out, shall we!
I remember first discovering this channel when Will (I didn’t know his name at the time, but of course, I do now) took video on the day Gatlinburg was overcome with ash and smoke on that fateful November day in 2016. Now this “Yankee living in the South” does almost daily videos with his wife, Dawn, documenting their experiences at the many different attractions in the area.
You see, Will and Dawn are transplants. I can’t speak for Dawn, but I know for sure that Will is originally from Michigan, but as someone who is familiar with Midwestern accents, I’d say she is too. Yes, I am extremely jealous of their situation. But all that aside, this is a wonderful channel that features them out and about on trails, in restaurants, and offering their opinions on different things to do in Gatlinburg and other areas in the Smokies. I highly recommend you hit that subscribe and like button for their channel, as it will be of great benefit to you when planning for a trip—or just enjoying their adventures in this majestic place!
2. NTL Vlogs
Another YouTube channel you should go to when looking for things to do in Gatlinburg and beyond is NTL Vlogs. What does NTL stand for? At the end of almost every video—if not all—he (Mike) tells his loyal audience that it’s Never Too Late to do what you love in order to enjoy life. It’s extremely evident that he and his wife are living life to the fullest living in the Smoky Mountains. A majority of their content involves them exploring Pigeon Forge, but you can also find them in Gatlinburg too, roaming the streets.
Once again, I’m not sure about Mike’s wife, but they are also transplants, originally from Jacksonville, Florida, but happily making their home in Pigeon Forge, I believe. Mike and his wife do almost daily live-streams, chatting with their fellow subscribers and friends from wherever or whatever they may be doing in the Smoky Mountains. You guessed it: Hit that subscribe and like button to get regular updates that will be super helpful for your trip planning!
Just a simple things to do in Gatlinburg search will merit many results, but an important starting point on YouTube should absolutely begin with these 2 awesome accounts. I hope you enjoyed my new blog post, and thank you all so much for reading. I’ll see you next time with some more helpful information, as my visit is less than 3 months away!
