Yes, it is almost that time of the year again when Gatlinburg becomes a winter wonderland, and the smells of the chili cookoff hit the Parkway,

For the 26th straight year Gatlinburg will host its annual Chili Cookoff and raise the curtain on the Winter Magic event. This special event will take place on November 11, from 5-8 p.m. downtown. It features the lighting of more than three million lights downtown and the Arts and Crafts Community. There are also animated displays that can reach heights of up to 40 feet. The Chili Cookoff costs $10, but there is plenty of good chili to sample. After sampling you can vote on your favorite chili, and the winner will be crowned with the People’s Choice Award. There will also be a panel of judges voting on Best Chili and Best Booth.

This is a very special time of the year in the Burg, so if you can’t make it down next month, be sure to check out YouTube or the many pictures you can find online of the amazing display of lights that illuminate the city through the Christmas season.
